Elite wide receiver commits to Michigan football

This is HUGE! #GoBlue

Wide receiver recruiting for Michigan football might be its biggest weakness over the years, at least compared to other position groups.

Though there have been some good receivers to come through the program — such a five-star Donovan Peoples-Jones and four-stars Roman Wilson, Cornelius Johnson, Nico Collins, and others — getting elite pass catchers to Ann Arbor has been a bit more of a challenge than that of defensive players, offensive linemen, running backs, and quarterbacks.

So it was something of a surprise when perceived favorite Oklahoma saw 2025 Fulshear (Tx.) Katy Jordan four-star wideout Andrew Marsh cancel his official visit in favor of going to Michigan for the final recruiting weekend in June.

Eventually, Marsh narrowed his list and Washington made a late run, but the maize and blue did enough as he committed to Michigan football to close out his recruitment.

Here is how Marsh rates according to the recruiting services:

Stars Ovr Pos State
247Sports Composite 4 63 9 13
On3 Industry Ranking 4 87 12 16
247Sports 4 66 10 13
On3 4 168 24 27
Rivals 4 60 11 11
ESPN 4 62 9 13

And his scouting report according to On3:

Strong-handed receiver with high-end ball skills. Measured in at 6-foot-0.5, 175 pounds prior to his senior season. Lines up all over the formation for his high school, working both outside and in the slot. A natural plucker, consistently catching the ball away from his frame. Has very large hands and plays with strength at the catch point. Makes one-handed snags with ease. Shows the ability to time his jumps and come down with high-point grabs in traffic. Registers as a good athlete, particularly in the jumps. Posted a 6-2 foot high jump as a sophomore. Will need to continue improving his burst, top end speed and route-running.

Marsh was also considering Kentucky, Texas, USC, and Washington and had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

He is listed at 6-foot-1, 173 pounds and also is an avid track runner.
