Russell Wilson can’t be ‘tricked or fooled’ by process with Steelers

Russell Wilson has been in this league for a long time. He knows it’s a season-long grind, one that requires patience.

The loss of the preseason’s first two games is not causing Wilson to overreact. He’s seen what practices are like for his new Pittsburgh Steelers team and knows what they’re capable of.

“If our practices weren’t as good as they have been, you’d be a little bit more heightened and concerned,” Wilson said.

Being patient while still maintaining the gravity of the situation — reaching the ultimate Super Bowl goal — is a delicate balance that teams must endure so as not to fall apart.

“I think the sense of urgency is always high. And if we scored three, four touchdowns, the sense of urgency still should be high. I think that’s where you can’t be tricked or fooled in the moment. You have to be able to understand it’s a long process, and it’s a process that you’ve got to enjoy.”

The Steelers have one more week to get their act together before their quest for their seventh Lombardi Trophy begins.
