Kentucky soccer is ranked fourth in preseason Sun Belt Coaches Poll

Kentucky soccer ranks fourth in the preseason Sun Belt Conference Coaches Poll.

Kentucky’s soccer program plays in the Sun Belt conference, as the SEC doesn’t sponsor men’s soccer. This week, a preseason Coaches Poll ranks the Wildcats fourth in the conference ahead of the 2024 season.

Marshall comes in ranked first, with eight of the first place votes, while West Virginia received the other two first place votes, and landed second in the poll. Central Florida is the other team ranked ahead of Kentucky.

Also newsworthy for Kentucky soccer is the placement of two Wildcats on the preseason All-Sun Belt team. Forward Isaiah Chisolm and goalkeeper Mols Casper were both included on the list.

Kentucky went 8 – 8 – 4 on the year in 2023, and 3 – 3 – 3 in the conference. They advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Notre Dame.

The Wildcats open the 2024 season on August 22nd against Oral Roberts. Conference play will begin on September 20th.
