Dabo Swinney shares an injury update on cornerback Shelton Lewis

Swinney shares a Shelton Lewis update.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program have been dealing with injuries as each team does as they prepare for the season, with the Tigers’ head coach updating the health of a key player in the secondary.

Recently, sophomore cornerback Shelton Lewis suffered a lower-leg injury during a Clemson scrimmage. Meeting with the media Thursday, Swinney updated Lewis’s status with a pretty typical Swinney injury assessment.

“Yeah, he’s day-to-day right now,” Swinney said. “It’s lower body.”

Lewis looks to be a big-time impact player for the Tigers in 2024. In his freshman season, Lewis recorded seven tackles, seven pass breakups, and two interceptions, playing in all 13 games for Clemson.

We’ll be monitoring Lewis’s status as Week 1 against Georgia approaches.
