Panthers QB Bryce Young has big day against Jets defense in joint practice

After throwing a few picks on Wednesday, Panthers QB Bryce Young bounced back with a big morning against the Jets at joint practice.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young just keeps stacking days this summer. And on Thursday, he stacked what may have been his best one yet.

The second-year passer shined throughout this morning’s joint practice with the visiting New York Jets. Heck, you couldn’t even tell that he was coming off a rough Wednesday, where he threw multiple interceptions to his own defense during a bumpy session.

Head coach Dave Canales, who said he actually thought Young was sharp yesterday, told reporters what he thought of the 23-year-old’s performance against another defense.

“He came out, he was sharp, he was getting us in and out of the huddle, he’s accurate,” Canales stated. “He just shows . . . that’s Bryce. He loves it. When he gets challenged and the stakes rise, that’s him. He stays the same and continues to be accurate. I love the way he handled today.”

Young would also be asked about his day.

“I liked how competitive we were,” Young replied. “I like how we responded. I think we started strong. I thought that we did a really good job as a unit of . . . I think there was a little lull for us as a unit, and us responding to that. ‘Cause there’s gonna be lulls throughout the season. We definitely had some points of emphasis to make sure we fight through that.”
