Patriots trading LB Matthew Judon to Falcons for draft pick

The Patriots and Matthew Judon are parting ways

New era in New England. Star linebacker Matthew Judon won’t be a part of it. The Patriots are trading Judon to the Atlanta Falcons for a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

The Patriots and Judon have been at odds throughout training camp. One day he walked off the field after a conversation with new coach Jerod Mayo.

And now, he is off to the NFC South and the Falcons as the Patriots clear a problem.

Judon had 28 sacks total in 2021 and 2022. He production was limited last season after a lower biceps injury shelved him. Judon turns 32 on Thursday. He has a total of 66.5 sacks in his NFL career. He played for Baltimore before moving on to New England.
