For New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye, it all started as a dream in front of a television screen playing EA’s “Madden NFL” football game.
So it was a full-circle moment for Maye to see himself revealed in the game for the first time. Who would have ever thought that kid playing the game would actually be in it one day?
Maye, who was drafted out of North Carolina, was selected by the Patriots with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft.
“Been playing my whole life, excited to officially be in #Madden25 today on the @Patriots,” Maye posted on social media.

The first order of business for Maye is improving his overall rating, which is currently sitting at 74.
It’s a fair number for a rookie quarterback who isn’t expected to start in his first season. But there’s a strong possibility of that number being drastically different in the future as Maye continues to learn and develop behind the scenes.
There’s hope that he’ll improve and bring the Patriots’ struggling offense along with him.
