Matt LaFleur provides updates on Quay Walker, Carrington Valentine and Jacob Monk

Quay Walker, Carrington Valentine and Jacob Monk are all expected to practice on Wednesday.

The Green Bay Packers are expecting to return three players to Wednesday’s padded practice.

Coach Matt LaFleur said linebacker Quay Walker, cornerback Carrington Valentine and offensive lineman Jacob Monk are all expected to practice on Wednesday.

Walker and Monk both exited Tuesday’s practice. LaFleur said Monk was dealing with some exhaustion coming out of Saturday’s preseason game and the heat in Green Bay on Tuesday. Walker, a key starter at linebacker, did not participate during 11-on-11 work. The Packers are currently riddled with injuries at linebacker, where rookie Edgerrin Cooper (hip) might miss another practice on Wednesday.

Monk avoiding an injury is a positive sign for a rookie who is gaining steam as a versatile interior offensive line option.

Valentine is the biggest injury news. He’s missed the better part of two weeks while dealing with a hamstring injury. LaFleur said Valentine — who is competing to start opposite Jaire Alexander at perimeter cornerback — would participate in individual periods, which is customary for players returning from an injury.

The Packers will have a padded practice on Wednesday and a walkthrough on Thursday before leaving for Denver. The Packers and Broncos have a joint practice scheduled for Friday and a preseason game for Sunday night.
