After a day of bad news surrounding rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr., the Cleveland Browns finally have some good news to celebrate as they have agreed to a contract extension with linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the Browns and their budding star linebacker have come to terms on a “significant long-term extension” as he comes off of a Pro Bowl season a year ago where he led all linebackers in tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
The Browns and Owusu-Koramoah have landed on a deal that will keep him in Cleveland for three more years, where he can earn up to $39 million. The 24-year-old linebacker has earned $25 million in guaranteed money on his new deal with the Browns.
This number comes in below the market value for a linebacker, under what the Pittsburgh Steelers paid Patrick Queen in free agency this offseason. As it stands today on paper, this is a massive heist by the Browns.
