Patriots TE Hunter Henry headlined list of joint practice absences

Hunter Henry remained sidelined for Tuesday’s scrimmage

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry was absent for the second straight practice on Tuesday. Henry headlined the list of absences from the joint training camp practice with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Defensive tackle Christian Barmore and safety Marte Mapu also did not participate. Linebacker Sione Takitaki, offensive lineman Cole Strange and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne are all currently on the physically unable to perform list.

Henry has been a key piece for the Patriots offense during his time in New England. He has tallied 133 catches for 1,531 yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons with the Patriots. He recorded 42 receptions for 419 yards and six touchdowns in 2023.

Mayo commented on Henry’s absence, as transcribed by NESN.com’s Keagan Stiefel.

“No updates to give you guys,” Mayo said. “He won’t practice today. When he’s ready to go, he’ll be out there playing. I don’t expect it to be a prolonged absence.”

Henry’s absence is certainly notable with the second preseason game set to take place against the Eagles on Thursday. It’ll be something to monitor heading into the matchup.
