Former Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen made a strong impression during his NFL debut this weekend.
The three-year starter at Wisconsin, who finished his college career No. 9 on the program’s all-time rushing list, rushed for 54 yards and six carries in the New York Jets 2024 preseason opener.

Allen will enter the season as the Jets’ clear No. 2 running back behind star Breece Hall. But despite beginning his career as a backup, Allen’s strong first impression is still the talk of Jets training camp.
The latest veteran player to chime in is Morgan Moses, the team’s starting right tackle.
“You see people trying to tackle him,” Moses said. “And they realize, ‘this s*** hurts.'”

Moses’ comments carry weight as he enters his 11th NFL season, 10th as a starter right tackle.
Moses, head coach Robert Saleh and starting RB Breece Hall have all now expressed their excitement about having Allen on the offense, especially after his strong debut performance.
The former Badger is unlikely to emerge into a starting role in 2024. But his role as a complement to Hall will serve him well as he adjusts to the NFL game.
Overall, this preseason and training camp period are going about as well as possible for the decorated former Badger.
