Notre Dame football already carries a top-10 distinction heading into the 2024 season by US LBM Coaches Poll.
The other major poll, the AP, didn’t view the Irish as highly. Notre Dame placed as the No. 7 team, which is exactly the same spot as the coaches.
The expectations are high for the Irish, as they are set up to make the first expanded [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag]. They will be unable to get a bye in the first round due to not having a conference affiliation, but if they finish inside the top-8, they’ll host a game in South Bend.
BREAKING: Georgia is No. 1 in the preseason AP Top 25 and Ohio State is No. 2 as expanded SEC and Big Ten dominate.

Can you imagine the wild environment inside Notre Dame Stadium with so much on the line. Yes, there have been some great regular season moments, but this would be hard to top.
Notre Dame has yet to make the CFP under Marcus Freeman, as it looks to break that streak and make its first return since 2021.
