Following their preseason debut, the Arizona Cardinals are four weeks away from the start of the regular-season opener. In 28 days, they will face the Buffalo Bills on the road.
No. 28 on the Cardinals is currently rookie cornerback Elijah Jones, selected in the third round of this year’s draft.
He has not yet made an impact.
The last reasonably impactful No. 28 was safety Charles Washington, who wore No. 28 for the Cardinals from 2019-2022.
He was a core special teams player all four seasons he played for the Cardinals.
Before him, from 2014-2017, Justin Bethel wore No. 28. He made the Pro Bowl three straight years as a special teamer, the final two while wearing No. 28. He wore No. 31 to start his career.
We continue the countdown tomorrow.
