The Baltimore Ravens welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to M&T Bank Stadium Friday for preseason opener for both teams. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (NFL+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Eagles vs. Ravens odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Eagles finished 11-6 last season, good for 2nd in the NFC East. They lost 32-9 in the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Philadelphia drafted CB Quinyon Mitchell in the 1st round at No. 22. The Eagles are led by QB Jalen Hurts, and their big offseason addition was star RB Saquon Barkley, who is unlikely he sees action Friday.

The Ravens, who finished atop the AFC North a season ago at 13-4, are led by 2-time MVP QB Lamar Jackson. Baltimore added RB Derrick Henry and also beefed up its defense by taking Clemson CB Nate Wiggins in the 1st round. The Ravens lost 17-10 in the AFC Conference Championship to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Eagles at Ravens picks and predictions

Prediction

Ravens 17, Eagles 14

Moneyline

BET RAVENS (+100).

The Ravens are at home and should have the better skilled-position backups. Players like WR Russell Gage and RB Justice Hill could be in on numerous drives, and QB Josh Johnson has experience as well.

The Ravens had the No. 1 defense in the NFL last season and bulked that up even further in the draft. They should be able to use even their backups to create an impact in this game. The Eagles have a few quality backups like QB Kenny Pickett as well, but he proved to be an inefficient option for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.

With numerous injuries to backups in the secondary, the Eagles may go further into their players just vying for a spot on the 52-man roster. Expect the Ravens to take advantage and back RAVENS (+100).

Against the spread

PASS.

Given the odds on the Ravens to win this game outright, that’s the preferred route. The Eagles aren’t worth a play here.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 34.5 (-110).

Neither team has backups who have proven capable of sustaining drives at the NFL level. Pickett struggled last season despite having a rock-solid defense, and Johnson has a career 58% completion rate.

He hasn’t performed well when given the opportunity either. With both defenses having been strong a season ago and both having been fortified in the 1st round, back UNDER 34.5 (-110).
