Browns respond to the City of Cleveland’s stadium renovation proposal

The team has responded to the proposal

The saga between the Cleveland Browns and the City of Cleveland continued on Thursday after the team submitted a proposal for renovations. For a while, the conversation has been about whether the team would renovate Cleveland Browns Stadium or build a dome in Brook Park.

The city’s proposal totaled $461 million to renovate the current stadium, though it’s in rough shape, and its long-term sustainability isn’t good no matter how much they spend renovating it. The team responded not long after the proposal, you can read the full statement by clicking here.

There wasn’t much actual information in the team’s response, but reading between the lines, they seem committed to a new stadium, likely a dome. Where might still be in question, but the current stadium was built quickly and poorly, and it just isn’t feasible to think the current one can be used long-term.

The Browns will be back in front of fans at training camp practice in Berea on Sunday with the preseason kicking off next weekend.
