Browns QB Deshaun Watson has no throwing restrictions despite rest day

Watson doesn’t have throwing limitations

After having shoulder surgery in November, which ended his season, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has looked good to start training camp. During OTAs and minicamp, Watson only threw every other day but threw in all six practices in a row before Friday’s practice.

Watson didn’t throw on Friday, taking a rest day, but after practice, head coach Kevin Stefanski said he has no limitations in terms of his throwing. Stefanski stated earlier in camp that the team would continue to be smart with him coming off surgery while also trying to get him ready for Week One.

The good news is that these comments mean it was just scheduled rest, not a setback with his shoulder. The Browns play a preseason game in a little over the week and it will be interesting to see if they have Watson on the field. I’d like to see him on the field working on chemistry with his pass catchers in a new offense, but I could see the team holding him out as well.
