In the eyes of CBS Sports college football writer Shehan Jeyarajah, the Colorado Buffaloes have the most challenging 2024 schedule in the 16-team Big 12 Conference.
Jeyarajah released a ranking of the Big 12’s toughest schedules on Wednesday and with another relentless season on deck for head coach Deion Sanders, Colorado’s 2024 slate topped the list.
Coach Prime’s Buffs open their season against top Football Championship Subdivision program North Dakota State before taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Colorado State Rams at their respective home stadiums. Jeyarajah also accounted for Colorado’s conference slate, which features an especially difficult month of November.
Here’s what Jeyarajah had to say about the Buffs’ 2024 schedule:
The Buffaloes face a perfect storm of difficult games mixed with tricky curveballs. Games against FCS power North Dakota State, rival Colorado State and a revamped Nebraska squad are all leasable in the nonconference. Five of the top six teams in the conference are on the back half of the schedule, including Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State to close the year. There are no weeks off.
Arizona State ranked No. 2 on the CBS Sports list and Houston followed at No. 3.
