Here’s why Patriots C David Andrews has reportedly been out

Latest report revealed why David Andrews has missed multiple training camp practices

New England Patriots center David Andrews missed consecutive practices in the first week of training camp, and now, we might finally have an answer as to why.

Per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, via NESN’s Sean T. McGuire, Andrews has been out of practice for a personal issue. This is not expected to be a long-term thing.

The Patriots have had Nick Leverett fill in for Andrews as the offensive line anchor at center. The line itself has shown promise with rookies Caedan Wallace and Layden Robinson emerging as positive contributors throughout training camp.

Andrews, a longtime team captain, has been a mainstay on the line for the last nine years, appearing in 120 games and starting in 117 of them.

The good news is that he is healthy.

Even though the top offensive line unit has looked better in training camp, Andrews’ presence on the field is still vital to the team’s success. The Patriots are reconstructing their offense, and they can’t afford to have key missing parts.
