Ravens HC John Harbaugh shares his plan for OL combinations during training camp

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh shared the plan for offensive line combinations during training camp

The Baltimore Ravens are facing many questions on their offensive line as they progress through 2024 training camp. The team lost 60% of their starting unit to free agency, with John Simpson, Kevin Zeitler and Morgan Moses now playing for other organizations.

When asked about his offensive line, head coach John Harbaugh shared his plan for playing different combinations over the course of training camp. he mentioned versatile lineman Patrick Mekari, and said guys will work in their primary or secondary sports, as it’s different for everyone.

“We’re going to try. We have certain guys that are moving in certain positions. Pat Mekari [is] mostly [at] right tackle right now, but also, he’s going to be center, backup center, so he’ll get some backup center reps. They’ll work their primary spots or secondary spot; some guys work both guards, some guys stay on the left side. [For] different guys, [we have] different situations.”

Protecting quarterback Lamar Jackson and opening up rushing lanes for running back Derrick Henry is a major priority for the Ravens this season. It remains to be seen what their full starting offensive line looks like, but they’ll need a big year out of their front line in order to compete for a Super Bowl.
