USC lands Division III transfer receiver Donovan Wood

It will be fascinating to see what USC can do with this new transfer.

Redshirt senior wide receiver Donovan Wood has transferred to USC from Division III school Middlebury in Vermont. In his three-year collegiate career at Middlebury, he recorded 131 receptions for 2,246 yards (17.1 avg.) with a long of 42 yards and 19 TDs.

As a senior in 2023, Wood collected 45 receptions for 718 yards (16.0 avg.) and 6 TDs.

USC has one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the nation with Zachariah Branch, Duce Robinson, Ja’Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon projected to start. The Trojans have a bench that includes the talented Kyron Hudson, Charles Ross, and the return of Kyle Ford.

Wood isn’t projected to see much playing time, but this transfer will open up new doors for the Middlebury receiver either way, both on and off the field. It’s an opportunity for a young receiver to learn under Lincoln Riley and develop his game in Los Angeles. It’s an exciting opportunity for him. Let’s see what USC can do to make it beneficial for everyone.
