Panthers QB Bryce Young talks about skirmishes from Tuesday’s practice

The Panthers revved up the intensity at a contentious practice on Tuesday.

This summer’s introduction of the pads certainly gave way to some increased physicality for the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday. (And that’s kind of putting it mildly.) Nonetheless, it’s all a part of the process.

Quarterback Bryce Young talked about this morning’s session, the very first padded practice for the team this training camp.

“The pads, obviously, they bring out more intensity,” he told reporters. “It gets more physical. We wanna clean some stuff up. We’re still family at the end of the day. When we go to the locker room, we’re brothers. But it gets competitive out there.

“Obviously, there were a couple of things that happened on the field, and it’s part of the game. We leave it out here. We don’t want it to happen in the future. But we’re competing.”

The Panthers left a few skirmishes out on that field today. Some of the contentious action featured running backs Chuba Hubbard, pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, offensive lineman Cade Mays and linebacker Chandler Wooten.

But, as they say—it’s iron sharpening iron.
