Report: Jaguars signing LB, special teamer Tanner Muse

Jacksonville plans to sign linebacker Tanner Muse on Tuesday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Muse worked out for the Jaguars on Tuesday amid their sixth day of training camp practices. Jacksonville has yet to confirm the signing.

Muse, 27, has played for Las Vegas, Seattle, Pittsburgh and the Los Angeles Chargers over four seasons in the NFL, entering the league as the Raiders’ No. 100 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft.

In 33 career games, including one start, Muse has recorded 22 tackles and one defended pass, peaking with 16 tackles and the pass breakup in 2022 with the Seahawks.

A key special teamer for his teams over the last three years, Muse took the field for 425 special teams snaps between 2021-22 with Seattle and 198 with Los Angeles in 2023.

Muse starred alongside Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. from 2018-19 during his five-year career at Clemson, where he played safety.

The former third-team All-American and two-time All-ACC third-team defensive back logged 192 tackles including 10.5 for loss, four sacks, seven interceptions, 21 defended passes and one forced fumble over 58 games with the Tigers.

The Jaguars are not required to make a corresponding move to sign Muse after waiving kicker Riley Patterson Monday evening.
