Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte understands challenges in second season

Kayshon Boutte is ready to prove himself on the football field

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte understands the challenges he faces entering his second year in the NFL.

The former LSU star recently had the gambling charges against him dropped, and he has acknowledged his past mistakes. He struggled to find his footing in his first year with the Patriots, recording only two receptions for 19 yards.

It was a difficult year for the offense as a whole considering they ranked 30th in the league.

Now, he is entering a year where the Patriots have undergone an offensive overhaul at wide receiver. There are currently 12 wideouts on the roster, and there won’t be a spot for everyone.

“Rent is due every day. I think we all know there is a limited amount of spots, so every day is a battle. You have to show why you deserve to be here,” Boutte told media members.

Boutte has the skills to be successful, but he has to stand out from the other receivers on the roster to carve out a spot.

He has had a strong training camp up to this point, and there’s hope he can parlay that into something bigger during the preseason slate.
