The 2024 college football season is almost here, which means it is time to get ready to root for your LSU Tigers as they look to return to the College Football Playoffs for the first time since the magical 2019 season.

It all begins in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the LSU Tigers face off with the USC Trojans. Two teams that sent shockwaves across the landscape when they hired sitting head coaches from top-tier jobs. Brian Kelly left Notre Dame for the Bayou and Lincoln Riley jetted from Oklahoma to sunny Los Angeles. These two teams are embarking on a new era after both lost their Heisman-winning quarterbacks to the NFL draft this past offseason.

The Bayou Bengals will then play their home opener against in-state school Nicholls before opening SEC play on the road against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sept. 14 in Columbia. LSU will then play the remaining nonconference games as September comes to a close when the UCLA Bruins and South Alabama Jaguars visit Tiger Stadium in Death Valley.

The October slate will open on the 12th following an open week when the Ole Miss Rebels come to town. These two teams lit up the scoreboard last year when the Tigers went to the Sip. LSU then visits the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas A&M Aggies in the following two weeks.

LSU has three huge matchups in November starting with the annual showdown against the Alabama Crimson Tide. They will play their final road game of the regular season when they travel to face the Florida Gators. The Tigers then host the Vanderbilt Commodores and close out the season against the Oklahoma Sooners. These two teams haven’t met on the field since Joe Burrow lit up OU’s defense in the College Football Playoffs.
