The 2024 college football season is almost here, which means it is time to get ready to root for your Alabama Crimson Tide as they enter the post-Nick Saban era after the legendary head coach retired following the 2023 season. Former Washington Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer will now lead the program into the expanded College Football Playoff era.
It all begins when the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers come to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Former Auburn and LSU QB TJ Finley is considered the backup to Caden Veltkamp but likely will see action in mop-up duty. Then South Florida comes to town before Alabama’s first trip to Madison since 1928 to face the Wisconsin Badgers. The Tide return home the following week to host the Georgia Bulldogs in a rematch of last season’s SEC title game.
After contests against Vanderbilt and South Carolina to begin October, Alabama will face the Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium and host the Missouri Tigers the following week. That gives them two weeks to prepare for the LSU Tigers in Death Valley on Nov. 9.
The regular season gets wrapped up against Mercer, a road trip to Norman for the first conference showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners and then the Iron Bowl against the Auburn Tigers in Tuscaloosa. Alabama has not played at Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium in Norman since 2002.
