New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez was able to fulfill a lifelong dream off the football field by buying his parents a new house. The incredible moment was captured in an Instagram post.
The second-year defensive back called the moment a dream come true when speaking to reporters.
“It was amazing,” said Gonzalez, via NESN.com’s Kayla Gregoire. “It was kind of surreal. I’m still processing, but it was just such a crazy feeling, amazing feeling. To be able to see their smiles on their faces was something I’ve always wanted.
“…They were very excited. Some happy tears, but I mean, it was fun. It was real fun.”
Gonzalez is living a dream both on and off the field.
He had a strong start as a rookie before going down with a season-ending shoulder injury last year. There will be added pressure this season with more expectations. He was recently featured on ESPN’s top cornerbacks list as an honorable mention.
His teammates have also taken notice of his work ethic with veteran Jonathan Jones even comparing him to former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore.
Gonzalez is on an upward trajectory when it comes to his playing career, and he is making sure to take care of his biggest supporters in the process.
