Ravens HC John Harbaugh has high praise for under-the-radar RB Owen Wright

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had high praise for running back Owen Wright

The Baltimore Ravens signed running back Derrick Henry to a two-year, $16 million deal at the beginning of 2024 free agency. While the veteran will be a massive part of what the team does on offense, other running backs behind him could make an impact as well.

One of those rushers is second-year player Owen Wright, who many within the organization believe in. Head coach John Harbaugh talked about Wright to the media after a training camp practice, calling him a “breakout kind of guy.”

“I just talked to Owen Wright yesterday about this, and I said, ‘I think you’re going to be a surprise, breakout kind of guy.’ He looks really good. He’s in great shape. He looked good last year, and I think he’s going to pick up where he left off and try to make a name for himself.”

While Wright is not currently projected to make the team’s final 53-man roster, he could make a name for himself throughout training camp and the preseason with solid performances. If anything, he could be a firm practice squad name that gets called up to the active roster when needed, especially with his experience around the team already.
