Kentucky basketball interested in 2025 recruit Mouhammed Sylla

Kentucky basketball sent a coach to watch 2025 recruit Mouhammed Sylla.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has been recruiting the 2025 class hard recently, and is hoping to start adding commitments. A new name is now on their radar in the form of Mouhammed Sylla.

Sylla is a 6’10” center from Senegal who is the 40th ranked player in the 2025 class by On3. He’s their number five center. Meanwhile, the other recruiting services haven’t listed him yet. That could change as he gains more attention.

In a recent game, Kentucky had an assistant coach on hand to watch. Several other programs, like Duke, Connecticut, and Kansas did likewise, and saw Sylla’s still-improving skillset.

Per On3’s Jamie Shaw, Sylla played some nice defense, and rebounded the ball well. On offense, he’s likely a work in progress, but Shaw noted that he made a couple of mid-range jump shots.

Sylla is someone that Pope and his staff is now keeping an eye on, and could rise in the rankings as the year progresses. Fans should remember the name.
