Ravens’ Justin Madubuike talks about preparing to face double teams

Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike discussed preparing for double teams

The Baltimore Ravens saw defensive lineman Justin Madubuike burst onto the scene in 2023 and enjoy his true breakout season. The former Texas A&M star put together a 13-sack season, which helped propel Baltimore’s defense to the top of the rankings last year.

With Madubuike putting the league on notice about his skills, he will most likely see his fair share of double teams this upcoming season. When talking about preparing for double teams, he mentioned having a high motor and staying in shape are key factors for him moving forward.

“Yes. Overall the most important thing for me is just staying in shape. Staying in great shape. Having a high motor. Focusing on ways to not get tired. That’s what I was talking about earlier about the nutrition and just the sleep and all those little things that add up. It will help me stay on point [doing] those things”

Madubuike will look to continue his 2023 momentum in 2024, and should have a good chance of doing so with how hard he’s worked. However, teams are much more aware of the star defensive lineman now, meaning they’ll throw a lot more at him to try and slow him down from the start.
