Washington’s top DB target receives crystal ball to choose Ole Miss

On3 believes a top Washington DB target will choose Ole Miss, but his recruitment is far from over.

It appears that the Washington Huskies are firmly in the mix for four-star safety Ladarian Clardy, the nation’s No. 15 prospect at his position and No. 182 overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.

But according to 247Sports’ biggest rival On3, Clardy, who is set to make his commitment on August 3, will choose coach Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels. Both director of recruiting Chad Simmons and vice president of recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged predictions for the coveted prospect from Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida, to choose Kiffin’s team.

Even though Simmons recently and correctly predicted that four-star athlete Dylan Robinson chose Washington, it doesn’t appear that Clardy has made his decision just yet.

On Monday, Clardy announced that he will be taking a trip to Seattle over the July 26 weekend for Jedd Fisch’s inaugural “Luau At The Lake” recruiting event, and if taking an unofficial visit to Washington from Florida says anything, it’s that the talented prospect hasn’t made up his mind just yet.

If he were to choose Washington, his commitment would be the best sign yet that Fisch’s new national approach to recruiting is working. It would also assert safeties coach Vinnie Sunseri’s prowess on the recruiting trail, as he has worked tirelessly to develop a strong relationship with Clardy.

“I love, love, love Washington,” Clardy told Dawgman.com. “Coach Sunsieri, that’s my guy. Him and (defensive coordinator Steve) Belichick, the way they coach you and the way they talk, I just vibe with them really well. Their resumes are unquestioned. They develop guys. They know how to coach you up and I just really feel comfortable with both of them.”

“(Sunseri is) just easy to talk to and the way he talks to me, it’s about more than just football. We talk about everything. Those are my guys. I really like them a lot.”
