While Notre Dame basketball still doesn’t have a 2025 commitment, it’s not due to lack of effort.
The Irish once again are a top contender for a nation prospect, this time it’s Minnesota center [autotag]Tommy Ahneman[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 10-inch and 235-pound big man cut his list down to five schools on Tuesday: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Notre Dame.
As the nation’s No. 84 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Ahneman is one of the best players in his class. The Irish desperately need size added to their roster, as the tallest current player is 6-foot, 8-inches. Selling playing time by head coach Micah Shrewsberry is a must.

The battle of the Midwest schools will continue through the fall, as Ahneman has scheduled all of his official visits during the football season. He will be on hand when the Irish host Northern Illinois on September 7th.
