One of Texas A&M football’s staff members has reportedly left the program

It has been confirmed that Joe Hamilton will return to Florida after briefly serving as Texas A&M’s Assistant G.M.

It’s no surprise when staff changes are quietly made during the summer, as the college football news cycle’s focus is geared toward preseason previews and recruiting updates, especially ahead of Texas A&M’s first season under new head coach Mike Elko.

Earlier in the offseason, Elko solidified his 2024 coaching staff, which included several key front-office hires, but according to multiple sources, which were confirmed by FootballScoop, Joe Hamilton, who briefly served as Texas A&M’s assistant G.M., will head back to join the Florida Gators staff ahead of the 2024 season.

Hamilton’s impressive personnel background after helping Florida and Louisiana recruit some of the best classes in both program histories likely played a small part in Texas A&M’s 7th-ranked 2025 recruiting class before ultimately departing.

Rejoining Florida’s staff looks like a huge win on paper for head coach Billy Napier, who is desperate for both on-field and recruiting success to keep his position with the program.
