In somewhat of a surprise Texas A&M right-handed pitcher Eldridge Armstrong III’s time in Bryan-College Station has come to an end. However, it’s for a positive reason. The New York Mets announced they signed Armstrong to a UDFA deal over the weekend.

Many casual fans did not see this coming and had Armstrong penciled in as a spot reliever with a chance to get some closer work in as well. He came to A&M in 2024 from SDSU where he went 6-1 with a 3.81 ERA. Even though his time was short in Aggielend you could see the talent in his arm and would have been an asset in Coach Jason Kelly’s pitching plan for 2025.
