Benson’s four-year contract has a total value of $6,059,606 and includes a signing bonus of $1,226,984. His salary cap charge this year is $1,101,746. There is a full split for this year, meaning his $795,000 minimum salary will be reduced to $470,000 if he lands on injured reserve.

Benson will be competing in training camp with Michael Carter and Emari Demercado for the No. 2 job behind James Conner. Also on the roster are Tony Jones Jr. and DeeJay Dallas, who could be in the mix for a role on the kick return units.
