USA Today predicts Panthers’ record for 2024 season

Will the Panthers improve on their two-win season in 2024?

After a miserable 2023, there’s almost nowhere to go but up for the Carolina Panthers this season.

Well, that’s where they’re going in the eyes of USA Today Sports’ Nate Davis, who projected each NFL team’s record for the upcoming 2024 campaign. And although his forecast keeps Carolina in the basement of the NFC South, Davis has them at a 4-13 mark—doubling their win total from last year.

He writes:

With new HC and quarterback whisperer Dave Canales and his positive vibes in the building, every reason to expect major progress from QB Bryce Young – and that could realistically mean doubling Carolina’s 2023 victory total, as modest a goal as that is.

“Modest” may very well be the name of the game for the Panthers, who are looking to find an identity under their first-year head coach. The same could be said about Young, particularly after an underwhelming rookie season where he averaged just 179.8 passing yards with 11 touchdowns.

As for the rest of the division, Davis has the Atlanta Falcons taking the crown at 9-8 with the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both following up at 8-9.
