The San Antonio Spurs got better in the NBA’s 2024 offseason with moves to add talent via the 2024 NBA draft (Stephon Castle, Juan Nunez, and Harrison Ingram), free agency (Chris Paul), and trades (Harrison Barnes). Even more interesting to Spurs fans in the fact that those moves now have San Antonio seen as a possible play-in tournament team at the end of the 2024-25 season, per a new analysis.
That analysis, put together by the Athletic’s Zach Harper, answers the question of whether the Spurs truly got better so emphatically, it’s hard not to smile. “I love the Spurs’ offseason so far,” he writes.
“They brought in two very important veterans to raise the professionalism and approach of a team that was just throwing things against a wall to see what sticks last season.”
