Watch: Dolphins’ Chop Robinson throws opening pitch at Marlins game

The Dolphins rookies had a night at the ballpark on Friday.

The Miami Dolphins’ rookies reported for training camp earlier this week and they’ll be joined soon by the team’s veterans. But it isn’t all hard work and no play for the first-year players.

On Friday night, the Dolphins’ rookie class headed to LoanDepot Park to watch the Miami Marlins host the New York Mets and first-round pick Chop Robinson got a chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Dolphins rookies must’ve brought some good luck to the field, as the last place Marlins managed to get a 6-4 win against the visiting Mets.

And although his throw to the plate was definitely well above the strike zone, the Dolphins didn’t draft Robinson for his ability to throw.

Miami may need its first-round pick to contribute early in his rookie year after both Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips suffered season-ending injuries in 2023. Both Chubb and Phillips are set to begin training camp on the PUP list, putting their availability for Week 1 in doubt.
