Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff must continue to emphasize California

As Jedd Fisch continues to build his recruiting classes over the next few years, he needs to put a strong emphasis on California.

When the Washington Huskies are at their best, there are players from California making an impact all over the field.

As any coach on the West Coast should, Jedd Fisch has made the state a top priority in the 2025 class, with four-star ATH Dylan Robinson from Bonita High School in La Verne, California becoming the ninth player from the Golden State to pledge to the coaching staff.

Robinson, who is ranked as the No. 14 player in the state by 247Sports, becomes the fourth player inside the ranking service’s top 25 to choose the Huskies, joining wide receiver Chris Lawson (No. 16), tight end Vander Ploog (No. 22), and offensive lineman Champ Taulealea (No 23). As Fisch’s tenure at Washington continues, continuing to add similar prospects, and could aim even higher.

The Huskies have had a lot of success with some of the top players in California in recent years, from former-first round pick Trent McDuffie, to All-American wide receiver Jalen McMillan, and Fisch can continue to build on it in 2025 and beyond.

His coaching staff hosted five of the top 10 players in the state on official visits over the summer and should continue to aim high on the recruiting trail. Washington’s first class has put his coaching staff in a great position to build the roster in his vision and if the staff can develop prospects like it did at Arizona, the Huskies could continue to see a lot of success in California in the coming years.
