UCLA Bruins come in 2nd in Olympians heading to Paris

Lots of former Bruins heading to Paris.

There are a bunch of UCLA Bruins heading to Paris for the 2024 Summer Games.

The UCLA Bruins have 17 athletes who will be looking for a gold medal in the next couple of weeks. While there are more than 10,000 athletes in the games, the Bruins have the second most from an NCAA Program.

Stanford has the most, and it is not close. The Cardinal has 38 athletes. The Bruins rivals, USC come in third with 16.

According to an announcement from the NCAA, the Big Ten has the most athletes, of course, UCLA and USC just joined the conference. The Big Ten has 116, while the Atlantic Coast Conference has 98 and SEC 85.

United States Olympic CEO Sarah Hirshland had high praise for all the athletes heading to Paris:

“With more than 440 current and former college athletes on the U.S. Olympic Team, we know they are competing not only for themselves and our country but also proudly for their schools and school communities.”

The opening night of the 2024 Summer Olympics is Friday July 26th, 2024.
