Caleb Williams is two weeks away from NFL debut with Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams’ first NFL game should be on Thursday night, August 1.

Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus said he was “very impressed” with Caleb Williams in camp. Colin Cowherd and Danny Parkins discussed the expectations for Williams and the Bears. Williams and his Chicago team will take the field in the AFC-NFC Hall of Fame Game in two weeks. The Bears face the Houston Texans on Thursday, Aug. 1. The game will air on ESPN at 8 p.m. Eastern time, 5 p.m. Pacific.

Bears Wire has more on the Hall of Fame Game and the opportunity it offers to Caleb Williams and the Bears:

Chicago was selected for this game because they have three players being enshrined into the Hall of Fame: Devin Hester, Steve McMichael, and Julius Peppers. It’s a great way to celebrate the franchise at the center of the NFL world. Both the past, present, and future will be on full display.

For the Bears franchise as they stand in 2024, this is a great thing for them. There might be a few teams that don’t want the extra preseason game, but this Chicago team could use all of the reps that they can get. There are so many new faces there and as many chances to play together could benefit them.

Veteran starters don’t need to play in this game, but a young starter definitely does. Caleb Williams should get at least a quarter in this game if not a half.
