Clemson has a star at wide receiver in sophomore Tyler Brown.
As a true freshman, Brown was the Tigers’ top performer at wide receiver. Brown made an immediate impact at Clemson, earning Freshman All-American honors from ESPN. He led the team in receptions and receiving yards as a freshman, totaling 52 catches for 531 yards and four touchdowns.
Heading into the 2024 season, Brown is one of the Tigers’ most important players. This offense needs to improve, and Brown is an integral part of making that possible.
Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley is expecting Brown to take the next step, discussing the young wide receiver at this week at Clemson’s annual media outing.
“I certainly think now, he’s going to take that to another step now that he’s played… now that he’s been in this offense for a year,” Riley said. So, really look for him to certainly improve from year one to year two. Even though he had a good year one, he’s got to take another big step here in year two.”
Clemson’s wide receiver room is an interesting one heading into the season. It’s up in the air who will be the target leader, but Brown is the early favorite after last season.
“Tyler’s a guy, what’s incredible about him is obviously he’s skilled, but mentally, he can just handle things,” Riley said. “That’s what I’ve been impressed with, with him, since day one.”
