Celtics star Jayson Tatum has more to say about fellow Duke alum Cooper Flagg

Tatum recently shared some of his thoughts about Flagg and his future in the league.

Pretty much every NBA team has had at least passing thoughts as to how they might get rising NBA prospect Cooper Flagg on their roster, but for star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, their shared alumni status with the Duke Blue Devils has given the St. Louis native an extra layer of interest in the Maine native’s game of late.

Tatum recently shared some of his thoughts about Flagg and his future in the league, soon after the Duke forward lit up Team USA as a member of the US Select Team in an interview with the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach. “He’s special. An elite talent,” said Tatum, who was himself drafted out of Duke to Boston in 2017.

“He plays extremely hard at both ends of the floor,” added the Celtics star. “He’s tall, he’s athletic, and he can shoot.”

“He can do all the things that you want a No. 1 draft pick or the best player on your college team to be. So, I’m happy for him. I want him to stay healthy,” he added. “I want him to bring a championship to Duke.”
