Shedeur Sanders makes list of top 10 projected passing leaders for 2024

Shedeur Sanders is expected to be among college football’s top passers this upcoming season

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders rewrote Colorado football’s record book during his first year with the Buffs. Now heading into his 2024 campaign, Carter Bahns of 247Sports sees another big season coming for Sanders. Bahns recently projected college football’s top 10 passers for the upcoming season and Colorado’s starting QB slotted in at No. 5.

Sanders set numerous single-season CU records in 2023, including most passing yards (3,230), touchdown-to-interception ratio (9-to-1) and completion percentage (69.3%). He also threw 27 touchdowns, the second-most in a season at CU. Those stats have led many to believe that Sanders is one of the best QBs in the country and could have his name announced early in the 2025 NFL draft.

Here’s what Bahns had to say about Sanders’ upcoming season:

He (Sanders) already holds No. 1 NFL Draft pick potential and would only solidify his status as an elite signal-caller with another huge campaign. That should be the expectation for a prolific passer whose offensive line, on paper, looks better than the one that last season allowed the most sacks per game nationally. All of Sanders’ favorite targets are back in 2024, as well.
