Duke basketball star Jayson Tatum posts fourth-grade letter predicting his NBA success

Jayson Tatum shared a heartwarming social media post on Tuesday: a letter he wrote in fourth grade that predicted his NBA stardom.

The NBA world can debate whether or not they saw the summer of [autotag]Jayson Tatum[/autotag] coming in 2024, but it turns out no one is less surprised than his fourth-grade self.

On Tuesday evening, the former Duke basketball star posted a letter he wrote in elementary school that predicted his rise to NBA stardom.

According to fourth-grade Tatum, he would be a one-year star at Ohio State (whoops). The Blue Devils aren’t the only member of his fandom caught off-guard by his childhood visions, however. The young Tatum predicted that, after six years with the Phoenix Suns, he would be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, his Celtics’ historic rivals.

He also wrote that he would play for the USA Basketball team in the Olympics, a feat he already accomplished in Tokyo three summers ago. He made Team USA again for the 2024 Olympics in Paris this month, and he made the American starting five during a Wednesday exhibition.

If you’re looking for more wholesome content, Tatum started his letter with his family. He thought he’d have two children and wrote about how his parents would spoil their grandkids, and he detailed his family life before any basketball teams.
