It was just back in 2022 that MLB fans started rooting for a tie in the All-Star Game, something unthinkable from that time the Midsummer Classic actually ended in a tie and everyone got made.
But there’s a good reason why: there’s an awesome way to decide the winner should the game be tied through nine innings: IT’S A HOME RUN DERBY WOOOOOO!
Per USA TODAY Sports’ Bob Nightengale in 2023: Each team would choose three players. Each of them gets three swings. The winner of the All-Star Game would be whatever team has the most home runs.
So, yeah. Let’s go ties!
Remember, if this All-Star Game remains tied after 9 innings, the game will be decided by a Home Run Derby.
