Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have put together their 2025 recruiting board, eyeing top targets for a very important class. UNC has yet to land a commitment in the 2025 class but is in pursuit of several prospects.
One of those prospects is four-star center Malachi Moreno. The Kentucky product is being recruited by some big programs, including North Carolina who offered him back in April and are hoping to add him to the roster.
But where do things stand with Moreno?
The recruit recently talked to Steve Helwagen of 247Sports to break down a visit to Ohio State. But he also talked about the Tar Heels as well.
Q: How about North Carolina? What do you see with them?
Moreno: “Sean May is recruiting me and he was a big guy at UNC. He is my main recruiter. He talked about how much he benefitted from playing at UNC and how much Hubert (Davis) liked watching me play and they want to get me down on campus.”
With Sean May leading the recruitment, it could help the Tar Heels chances for the big man as he would get the insight from one of the best big men in UNC history.
The Tar Heels might have some ground to make up in this recruitment as it appears as if Kentucky is the favorite. But don’t count the Tar Heels out just yet.
