Notre Dame football can’t sway Texas receiver, commits to rival Big Ten program

Not the best news to start the Irish’s week

The first to two big wide receiver dominoes has fallen for Notre Dame football, and unfortunately this one didn’t land the Irish’s way.

[autotag]Tanook Hines[/autotag], a Texas native, had Notre Dame among his final schools, but on Monday afternoon he decided that the lure of Southern California was too much to say no too. The 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pound receiver committed to USC, taking yet another prospect off the Irish’s recruiting board.

The nation’s No. 355 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings decision hurts Notre Dame in multiple way, mostly that he opted to go to a rival school that is on the schedule in the future.

Hopefully, Notre Dame’s luck changes soon as they await the decision of Nevada star receiver Derek Meadows.
