Joe Burrow shows up huge in QB rankings from execs, coaches and scouts

The Bengals QB is held in high esteem by those in the league.

The summer player rankings continue and the quarterback editions have finally arrived, meaning fans can see how those within the NFL feel about Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow.

Great. They feel great.

In the polls assembled through talking with executives, coaches and scouts, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has Burrow ranked second overall — behind only Patrick Mahomes.

“Baller. Release. Decision-making. Tough as nails,” an NFC offensive coach told Fowler. “One play away from already having a ring. And young so the injury not as concerning.”

Burrow’s lowest ranking among those polled was seventh overall. Despite the injury concerns, he actually climbed one spot in these consensus rankings.

One NFL executive even told Fowler that Burrow is the type of player who can offset personnel losses: “Burrow is still probably the most consistent of all the guys. A pure thrower who’s in complete command of the offense and comes up big in big moments. He knows when to attack and be aggressive vs. when to take the easy yards. And the dude is so tough.”

The Bengals understand that point well enough and hope it rings true while the defense reloads and new faces step into key pieces of the offense, such as at right tackle, running back and tight end.

Should Burrow stay healthy in 2024, there’s no reason to think he won’t keep a tight grip on one of these high spots. Until then, those within the NFL have certainly justified what Bengals fans feel about their star passer.
