Hubert Davis watches a top UNC basketball recruiting target at Peach Jam

Hubert Davis had his eyes on a top combo guard at the Nike Peach Jam.

The open evaluation period is here as AAU tournaments are underway again including the popular Nike EYBL Peach Jam. The event takes place each Summer, usually spanning over a week.

But now the event is two weeks long, giving coaches an extended look at some recruits.

For North Carolina, Hubert Davis and staff members were in North Augusta, South Carolina for the event to watch some recruits. And they had their eyes on a top target on their 2025 recruiting board.

The Tar Heels were among the programs watching the Noon showdown between Team Durant and Mac Irvin Fire. Four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis played in the game and drew the attention of Hubert Davis per a report:

The Washington D.C. Product recently cut his list of offers down to a top 8 which included North Carolina. He also previously set two visits to the Tar Heels’ program for later this year, potentially giving UNC the edge in this recruitment.

Davis and his staff have yet to land a recruit in the 2025 class and it’s clear that Lewis is high on their list. Being able to land the combo guard would be a huge first step in building that 2025 class.

Lewis is ranked No. 31 nationally, No. 4 combo guard and the No. 1 player in D.C. per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
