LSU basketball is picking up steam with a top-100 forward, according to On3. [autotag]A’Mare Bynum[/autotag] has locked in his official visits and LSU made the cut.
Bynum, a native of Nebraska, will visit LSU from September 27-29. The basketball program won’t have much going on that weekend, but it coincides with LSU football hosting South Alabama. A game in Death Valley should help to make a strong impression on Bynum.
Bynum told On3 he’s looking for a school where he can showcase his versatility as opposed to just playing on the block. LSU will have some stiff competition. The other schools on Bynum’s list are all in the midwest with LSU being the lone SEC program.
According to the On3 Prediction Machine. Nebraska is leading the way right now. On3 and 247Sports both rank Bynum as a top 100 player and top 15 at his position.
LSU’s recruiting saw an uptick under [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] last cycle. The Tigers finished with the No. 13 overall class in the country and a top-five class in the SEC.

McMahon signed three blue-chips in 2024 and if LSU takes another step on the court this year, he should sign more in 2025. Bynum’s name is one to watch in that regard.
